Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya

The Embassy of India commemorated the 100th birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya in Tehran. The function was organized in the premises of Kendriya Vidyalaya, which was attended by members of Indian community, teachers and students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Iranian nationals and members of the Indian Mission. The function comprised a photo exhibition on the life and works of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, showing of a documentary film on Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay’s ‘Integral Humanism’ to the audience and speeches by the Principal and students of the Vidyalaya on the life, works and philosophy of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay. Ambassador Mr Saurabh Kumar addressed the audience on this occasion and urged upon the students to understand and follow the message of Pt Upadhyay in their endeavours in life and to take an inspiration from his life. Government’s efforts towards ‘Antyodaya’, i.e. to reach the benefits of its various schemes/projects to the person at the lowest level were also explained/talked about through the speeches. Essay and Quiz competitions were earlier held in the school on the life and works of Pt. Upadhyay. The winners of the competitions were awarded prizes by the Ambassador. More than 280 persons attended the commemoration function.
