EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR RE-ISSUANCE OF OCI CARDS TILL 30 JUNE 2021

          Reference is invited to our Press Release dated 26.05.2020. As per existing instructions, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholder registration is required to be re-issued each time a new passport is issued up to the age of 20 years and once after completing 50 years of age in view of biological changes in the face of the applicant.

2. With a view to avoid inconvenience to such OCI cardholders, this is to inform that Government of India has decided to further extend the deadline for re-issuance of OCI cards from the existing deadline of 31^st December 2020 to 30^th June, 2021.

3. It has also been decided that, subject to MHA’s extant guidelines regarding entry of OCI cardholders in India, such cardholders will be allowed to travel on the strength of their existing OCI card bearing old passport number subject to the condition that the OCI cardholder will have to travel along with both old and new passports.
